Jaeda Wagner is still in her teens, but she already plans to change the world. And she will do it through her medical research.
For someone so young, Jaeda is already very passionate about her chosen career. This Cabarrus-Kannapolis Early College High School student most definitely has ambitious goals. In fact, she is already taking actions to fulfill them.

Determined to Pursue Her Goals
Jaeda says that it’s her goal to attend Harvard University after high school. She is interested in pursuing preventative medicine. She also wants to start a community garden in her hometown of Concord, North Carolina.
This driven girl admits that she has always been the kind of person who looks forward to her future plans. She makes sure to do her research, too. In fact, Jaeda also revealed that she has been researching colleges since she was 10 years old.
But what really sparked her interest was the medical field.
The Congress of Future Medical Leaders Nomination
The Congress is an honors-only program. That is why delegates must meet certain criteria to be nominated.
And for Jaeda, the Congress nomination was an awesome opportunity. Of course, true to her nature, she first researched the Congress and the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists. After research and consideration, Jaeda and her parents decided that she should attend the event. In fact, Jaeda even raised funds to cover part of the cost, the rest of which was provided via a scholarship from the Academy.
The National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists Congress Experience
The Congress is an annual event organized by the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists. Here, students who aim for a career in the medical field come together to learn from experts and each other.
It is the Academy’s purpose to mentor future medical professionals. And that is why we expose Congress delegates to real-world experiences. Esteemed medical and scientific practitioners teach the delegates what they need to know and motivational speakers give them the boost of confidence they need to pursue their goals.
At the Congress, Jaeda heard from speakers who covered an array of medical topics. She described her Congress experience as “amazing and inspiring.”
A talk that stood out to her was the one delivered by Sean Stephenson, a motivational speaker born with osteogenesis imperfecta, a disorder that causes bones to break easily, among other complications. Sean inspired Jaeda by the way he decided to turn his burden into a blessing.
All in all, her Congress experience has helped Jaeda gain more knowledge on the career she aims to pursue.
Life After The Congress
For Jaeda, learning never ends. After the Congress, she reviewed the lessons from the lectures to absorb them further. Doing this has made her even more excited for what the future holds for her.
Aside from medical research, Jaeda is also interested in environmental issues and nutrition. She wants to do something that caters to all her interests, which is why she decided to pursue preventative medicine. Here, she can combine both medicine and nutrition in one field.
Jaeda has discovered that a plant-based diet can prevent or reverse common illnesses. She has come to understand the meaning behind the saying, “You are what you eat.” And this is exactly what she wants to do more research on in a lab setting.
Because of her passion for her interests, Jaeda also had an idea to start a community garden. That way, community members will have access to healthier and more affordable food options.
For Jaeda, this idea will promote both community spirit and a healthier lifestyle.
Taking The Advanced Academic Certification
Jaeda wants to take things one step further by earning an Advanced Academic Certification in research. It’s an opportunity for Jaeda to hone her skills in research. With the certification, she also plans to enter science fairs.
As Jaeda says, gaining the certification is not only something that she will enjoy doing, but it will also help her stand out to Harvard University’s admissions officers.
